Assigning Mandatory Applications in MDT 2012 in the Customsettings.ini File

One of my absolute favorite things about MDT is that we can keep apps out of our images. IT maintains a few images, and we update the apps in the share, and MDT pulls them at deploy time. How do we make applications mandatory then? In this quick guide, I’ll show you how.

First determine the GUID for the app by selecting the application in the workbench, and right clicking and selecting properties.

Next use that in the .ini file. Mandatory Applications will ALWAYS install when the LTI wizard is started.
